# one point per dollar. your rank follows your points. perks are real.
# the fastest climbs come from the things you do, not from the money you spend.
# here is how all of it works.
every account has a rank, from newcomer to master operator. your rank is set by your lifetime points, and each rank unlocks perks that stay with you. this page explains the whole program in plain words. the rules behind it are in the terms.

// RANKS: HOW CLEARANCE WORKS
your rank is whatever your points balance supports. points do not expire, so with normal use a rank only ever moves up. the one way down is points being taken back: a refund, a cancelled order, or points reversed for abuse or fraud. if that drops your balance under a rank's threshold, the rank goes with it, and comes back the moment the balance does. the table shows what each rank unlocks; the perks section below says what each one means.

>the rank sleeve print opens at analyst. the birthday bag opens at senior operator. handle embroidery opens at team lead. master operator gets two birthday bags and a name on the
master operators wall.
// POINTS: HOW YOU EARN THEM
>orders: 1 point per dollar you pay, credited when the order is paid. subscription shipments earn 25% extra on the subscribed items.
// buying your way up is the slow, expensive way, and not the one we want you to take. the fastest climbs come from the things you do, not from the money you spend. you worked hard for that cert, and you get credit for it here. sharing the coffee with someone helps everyone in this place, and we want to reward you for it. telling the next operator what a bag is actually like is worth more to us than another order. those are the climbs this program was built around.
>certifications: a verified security certification earns points once (20 to 100 depending on its level) and a permanent boost on every future order. the
certifications page has the whole story.
>advocacy: referrals and reviews earn points, see advocacy below.
>bonus events: we sometimes run point multipliers (double-point weekends and the like). they are announced on the site and apply automatically.
>a refund removes 1 point per refunded dollar. a cancelled order gives back what it earned. bonuses already paid are not clawed back. your balance never goes below zero. if the balance falls under your rank's threshold, your rank drops to match; see the
terms for the rules.
// PERKS: WHAT EACH ONE MEANS
>rank discount (5% at senior operator, 8% at team lead, 10% at master operator): comes off the goods on every order, coffee and merch alike, automatically at checkout. add-ons are never discounted.
>early access to drops: limited releases open to you before the public, by the hours in the table. the drop page shows your countdown.
>coffee ships free: once the coffee in your cart, at list price before any discount, reaches your rank's minimum, the $7 coffee postage is waived. merch does not count toward it, because merch already ships free in the contiguous us.
>rank sleeve print (analyst and up): your earned rank printed on the sleeve of a hoodie. it is a flat $10 add-on on top of the hoodie, never discounted, and you can only print a rank you hold.
>handle embroidery (team lead and up): your handle embroidered on select merch (beanies first, hoodies to follow). a flat $10 add-on, never discounted. the text you enter is stitched exactly as typed, 1 to 20 characters: letters, numbers, underscore, hyphen, period and spaces. we review every embroidery order before it is made and may decline text that is offensive or impersonates someone.
>birthday bag (senior operator and up, two bags at master operator): set your birth month once in account settings. in that month you get a personal code; at checkout it makes the priciest core-line coffee bag in your cart free (the two priciest for master operator). you pay postage unless your rank waives it. one code per year, valid for the calendar month, not for subscription shipments.
>name on the site (master operator): your handle on the master operators wall for as long as you hold the rank.
// DISCOUNTS: HOW THEY STACK
>service discount: 10% off everything, every order, at any rank, for military, veterans, first responders and government employees. verify once through govx from your cart or account page; the discount is tied to your account from then on.
>subscription discount: 5% off every subscription shipment, on top of everything else.
>the rank discount, the service discount and the subscription discount add together: for example 10% master operator + 10% service + 5% subscription = 25% off a subscribed bag. a referral code adds on top of that on a first order.
>add-ons (the rank sleeve print and the handle embroidery) are special rank perks and are never discounted. the percentage comes off the garment, not the add-on.
// ADVOCACY: REFERRALS AND REVIEWS
referrals
>your account page has a referral link, code and qr code. share them with anyone.
>the person you refer gets 10% off their first order. they need a free account to redeem it, and customers who have ordered before are not eligible.
>when that first order is paid, you earn 10 points. there is no limit on how many people you can refer.
>referral rewards are paid for a referred customer's first order only, never for your own orders. if that order is cancelled or refunded the points are reversed.
reviews
>a review of a product you bought earns 10 points, or 15 with a photo, once it is approved. reviews are hosted by judge.me; only reviews from a verified buyer earn points.
>review points are capped at 100 per account, lifetime. after that, reviews are still welcome; they just stop paying.
>reviews must be honest and your own. the points are not payment for the review itself; they are there to get you to take part. a one-star review earns exactly what a five-star one does. we will never ask for, pay for, or reward a dishonest review.
// CERTIFICATIONS: THE SHORT VERSION
>verify a security certification from offsec, hack the box or comptia on your account page. it earns points once, by level: foundational 20, associate 40, professional 60, expert 80, master 100.
>it also gives you a permanent cert boost: extra points on every future order, equal to the cert's points divided by ten. boosts add up and are capped at 100%.
>how verification works, what we keep, and the full list of supported certifications are on the
certifications page.
